A Brave New World

Hello and Salutations!

Yes, it has been quite some time since my last post.  I admit that this was due in part to quite a bit of inactivity, and a time-consuming process of picking out headshots which will soon be posted (if not already) on the gallery page….

But I’m back!  Ever since I got the new headshots from John Arrington up on the casting websites, there has been a slew of activity in the form of kick ass auditions.  Kudos to John’s work, but I give most of the credit to my new representation at RPA.  Paulo, my manager, is in a word, amazing.  The very next day after the headshots were available for him to submit, I got an audition for a pilot and a Wendy’s commercial.  However, life stepped in and I had to go to Las Vegas for a friends birthday, and then to Memphis for another friends wedding.  I had to miss a callback for the pilot…but at least I got one!!!

As soon as I was in the airport returning home from Memphis (this past Monday), RPA (the management company and Paulo) called with a feature film audition for today, Wednesday.  When the plane touched ground I had a voicemail from them about ANOTHER audition the very next day (Tuesday) for the Jennifer Love-Hewitt show, The Ghost Whisperer!

Needless to say, I am thrilled to the gills at these new opportunities, and pray that they pan out and that this busyness continues.  The Ghost Whisperer went well.  I did my audition, and the casting director gave me direction on one of the lines.  I did it again and she said it was “Spot on.”  Today the feature audition went great, too.  I really feel like I knocked it out of the park.  When I got done they said it was great and that they had no direction for me….which sounds good in some respects, but I always like to get direction so that if the director watches the audition (most all are videotaped) s/he can see that I can make good adjustments.

It’s funny, I’m probably at one of the lower points in my career right now with nothing booked and one teeny weeny ESPN.com commercial still barely running, but I’ve never felt this hopeful before in my career either…well, maybe after I found out I booked that Comedy Central pilot, “22″.  That was a damn fine day.  To throw the emotional roller-coaster of my life at you….since we’re on the subject…”22″ was officially passed on by Comedy Central last week.  However, the project yielded for me great new friends, something to put on my reel, a new manager, needed pay, and a great overall experience.

I remain positive!  And not because I’ve read The Secret either.  We won’t go into my thoughts on that…for a different blog.

Anyway, please keep checking back in, and I’ll try my best to update regularly!  Keep the prayers and good thoughts going for me!!!

Thanks, as always, for reading!
