Booked a Best Buy National commercial!!! We shot it in Minneapolis because that’s where their headquartered. Picked me up in a town car and flew me 1st class!!! I shot with some really funny guys, and it was fun to get out of town for work. Look for it in August. The commercial is for LG 3D TV’s.
I booked a Guest Star spot on the new Disney Channel show A.N.T. Farm!!! This one was epic! Shot in front of a Live studio audience! The episode is called ManagemANT and it should air sometime in August. these kids were REALLY talented, hilarious, and a joy to work with. Set your DVR’s!!!
So, I didn’t put this one up because I thought I’d gotten cut out of it. I saw a cut during the Master’s that I was NOT in. But now it’s airing!!!! You can’t even tell it’s me, but me and another actor (G Michael McGrath) are looking at a tablet as factory workers. I have a white hard hat on. Seriously though, blink and you’ll miss me.
I recorded a character for the radio play Adventures in Odyssey! My character was Everett Delk, best friend of Alvin York. It was a really great experience recording in a circle of other actors. So much talent, and we got to improvise some, too. It was one of those jobs that you wouldn’t mind doing much more of.
Update: THIS SPOT DID NOT/WILL NOT AIR. Sometimes this happens, they just decide not to air a spot. Oh well. I shot a national Subway commercial in January! It all took place in a hot-air balloon! Allison Horn cast it, and I shot it with John Farley, Chris’ brother, who is hilarious. I really admire him as a working actor. He’s been successful at it for years, and I hope the same will be said of me someday! It should be airing around April, so keep an eye out when you’re fast forwarding on your DVR’s!!!
I have been shooting some sketch shorts with a comedy group called Mother Approved. It has been so much fun to work with them, and they are some of the funniest people around! Check out their website here, and “like” them on Facebook!
A short mockumentary I did called Birdwalk is now completed!!! You can check it out here or by clicking the picture. It’s about 12 minutes long, but if you’ve got the time, I think it’ll give you some laughs. Most of it was improvisation, and I think it’s some of my best improv work. The director, Chris Reinner, is a great friend and he made the set a place of laughter and creativity. This shoot was so much fun. If I could, I would do these types of projects all the time!
I just recorded a voice-over radio spot for Sony HDTV! I love this pic because as a Tennessee boy, I am a Peyton fan! The spot advertises for the upcoming BCS National Championship game. If you listen to the radio, let me know if you hear it! In the meantime, I’ll try and get a copy to post up here!
I booked a commercial for Bing.com! Check it out here!!! This one was probably the most fun I’ve ever had doing. Well, kinda. We shot in a grocery store and had a massive FOOD FIGHT!!! And when I say massive, I mean massive. We all applauded the art department at the end of the shoot. The downside…I had to spit some nasty canned guacamole (ala Bluto in Animal House) out of my mouth. I almost yarfed a couple of times. Can’t wait to see it. Let me know if you find it before me!
Click here to see it or visit the Reels page! I just booked and shot a Toyota commercial! This one really meant a lot to me. The first vehicle I ever had was a 1990 Navy Blue Toyota 4×4 pickup truck. I ran the “Yota” to death in the mountains of East Tennessee. But she was a thing of beauty. And then in LA I had a Toyota Corrolla…not nearly as exciting, but still…notable. I signed a confidentiality agreement on this one so it’s hush hush til it airs…who knows when that will be. As always, let me know if you see it, and thanks for reading!!!
Yeah! I said bacon!!! Possibly my favorite commercial to date. Check it out here. This one ran a ton, and a lot of people got to see it…even some friends in Belize! Such a fun, fast, and easy shoot. The girl in the spot with me is the Orbitz gum girl! She was so n double i c nice. Okay, it doesn’t work…whatever. Anyway, this one’s a classic!
I booked and shot a Home Depot commercial!!! You can see it here. It was cast by Skirtz Casting. Supply & Demand was the production company and it was directed by Jeffrey Plansker. I’m mostly just buying some tools in the store, and then drilling, jigsawing, and installing some stuff at home. No dialogue, but I really hope they air the heck out of it…look for it to air around June or July…and as always, I’ll try and post it up here as soon as I get a copy of it.
I have shot a couple of webisodes recently. One is called “Double-Wide Blues”. I shot it with some great friends and it’s a mockumentary about trailer park life. The other one is called “Smoked” and it’s about the misadventures of some friends that own a medical marijuana dispensary in Venice, CA. I will provide links to these projects when they get edited and up and running on the web…Check back soon!
I shot a music video for the Drive-By Truckers! Click here to see it on Youtube. Clean version here. The song is called This F*#%ing Job, and they played it on David Letterman on March 13th. Scott Teems directed it, and the lead guy in it is Ray McKinnon! Ray is kind of a hero of mine. I actually auditioned for him a few years back for a film he did called Chrystal with Billy Bob Thorton. The guy who went into the audition before me….Rainn Wilson AKA Dwight Schrute from the Office! Ray is an incredibly talented actor, writer, and director! Most recently, he played coach Burt Cotton in The Blind Side. Gittyup!

I booked a Guest-Starring role on Ghost Whisperer!!! Read my blog about the shoot! I’m not sure of the air datejust yet, but I’ll post it when I find out. This is by far the best booking of my career so far! Well, “22″, the Comedy Central pilot was, but since it didn’t get picked up…this is king of career hill. I shoot my episode on 2/1 and 2/2. I have scenes with Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Jaime Kennedy! I am so very humbled and thrilled to be a part of this great show! Keep checking back to the site to find out when it airs!!!
I just found out I booked the new Medal of Honor video game! I record my part on 2/12, and can’t wait! Man, I am the war game king. I guess you’d think so too if you heard me scream for a medic. You probably have if you played the last Call of Duty! This booking is a great boost for my voice-over career!
I booked a Honda commercial!!! Watch it here. We shot it in Mammoth which was absolutely amazing. It’s about 5 hours from L.A. Our driver got a speeding ticket on the way back…we thought we’d talked him out of it….but after all he was a cop…not a real person. (That’s a Reservoir Dogs reference, fyi) Anyway, check out my blog with pictures!!!
I booked a pilot for Comedy Central called “22″!!! Watch scenes here! It’s with Jackhole Productions which is owned by Daniel Kellison, Jimmy Kimmel, and Adam Corrolla. It’s about these post-college guys trying to figure out what to do with their lives in the midst of booze, girls, and each other. The script is hilarious, and it was a blast to shoot. Keep your fingers crossed! We’ll find out if it gets picked up in the early fall!
I shot my ESPN commercial on Wednesday (5/13). Watch it here! For you football nuts, like me…Samari Rolle was there. Sadly, Adam Vinateri, Mason Crosby, Jason Witten, and Rob Bironas were there today…when I’m not. But it was a great shoot and there were 9 of us “fantasy football guys” so I made some really cool friends. Look for it in the fall on ESPN!!!
I just booked a radio commercial for McDonald’s. It went incredibly well. It only took about 20 minutes to do! The advertising agency was in Dallas, so I’m assuming it’s playing around there. I’m not sure. I was supposed to sound like Kenneth from 30 Rock…not exactly, just like him. What do you think? Click on the icon to listen.
The new spot for Monster.com is running! Check it out on Youtube here. Also, check my blog (The Shoot) for a picture of a killer bruise I got during the shoot. This spot is such a blessing (all of them are) coming right before Christmas. I actually found out I booked it before Thanksgiving which made me a little extra thankful. I hope that it will be a great help to the company, so that they can help those that find themselves out of work.
Hey peeps! Check out my new State Farm Insurance Commercial (Requires Quicktime). It’s airing now on National Network, Cable, and elsewhere on the Internet. This shoot was awesome! They made it snow at the Coliseum parking lot in L.A. Incredible stuff. We were in and out pretty quick. Had a great time with the make-up ladies…and then with the spigot in my front yard just to get the stuff off. Still, I’ve been feelin’ kinda Sunday every Sunday since!
There are a few words that are music to the ears when working as a commercial actor: Campaign, National, and Re-negotiation. This Wells Fargo Commercial (Requires Quicktime) just got re-negotiated, and is up and running again! It is one of my favorites. The director and agency were hilarious. We shot it in Long Beach in December of 2006. My hair is short because I was in a Holocaust play called “The Grey Zone” at the Deaf-West Theatre. We got nominated for best ensemble cast at the L.A. Weekly awards for that show. It was a really memorable time.

Oh Yea!!! Call of Duty 5! For a gamer nerd like me, this is a dream come true. I had a blast recording this. Pun intended. 4 hours of screaming. Everyone was so nice to me. Kiefer Sutherland and Gary Oldman are in it, too! It’s slated to release November 11, 2008. Got my PS3 ready to go for this. Check it out. If anyone dies in the game…it’s probably my scream!
Tom Clancy’s Endwar. Slated to release November 4, 2008. This one was my baby. I had a great time recording it…with a French accent! That’s right. You didn’t know? I’m fluent in French…accent. Any French soldiers telling you where the bad guys are or screaming at you for not hurrying up is probably me. I’m excited to play this one as well. Oui! Oui!
